Founded to serve New Hampshire’s Lakes Region and White Mountains, Squam Ridge School of Music exists to make exceptional musical opportunities more accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. Our Philosophy
We believe that music education should extend far beyond learning notes or preparing for performances.
Musicianship is built through listening, creativity, critical thinking, technical development, and shared musical experiences. Students learn best when they understand not only how to perform music, but why music works, how to communicate through it, and how to continue growing independently throughout their lives.
Our educational approach integrates performance, music theory, ear training, composition, improvisation, and ensemble playing into a connected learning experience. Rather than teaching these subjects in isolation, we strive to help students develop a broad and lasting understanding of music that supports both artistic excellence and personal growth.
