Noelle Beaudin & Shelby Trevor

Shelby Trevor serves as the Artistic and Educational Director and Co-Founder of Squam Ridge School of Music. A violinist, composer, educator, and arts leader, his work bridges classical, folk, experimental, and improvisation-driven traditions while fostering meaningful connections through music education and community engagement.

A native of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region, Shelby began studying violin at age six and went on to complete his conservatory studies at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA. His teachers have included Laura Bossert, Charles Castleman, and Eric Rosenblith. Throughout his career, he has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral performer, and collaborative artist in a wide variety of settings, including concert series, festivals, educational programs, and interdisciplinary artistic projects.

Shelby brings extensive experience in educational program development and community music-making. He is the founder and former Artistic Director of the Amelia Island Community String Orchestra, where he developed an ensemble model centered on mentorship, experiential learning, and artistic excellence. He has also developed educational initiatives for nonprofit organizations including the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival and Arts Alive Nassau, providing accessible music education opportunities for young musicians.

As Artistic and Educational Director of Squam Ridge School of Music, Shelby oversees curriculum development, ensemble programs, camps, workshops, and educational initiatives. His vision is to create a vibrant musical community that combines strong technical foundations, artistic exploration, collaboration, and lifelong engagement with music.

In addition to his educational work, Shelby maintains an active performance, composition, and recording artist career. He recently completed a professional studio recording of J.S. Bach’s Partita No. 3 in E Major for solo violin and is a founding member of RamaLisa, a violin and hurdy-gurdy duo inspired by folklore, mythology, and the natural world. He also collaborates with pianist Daniel Padgett in East Mill Outcry, an ongoing project exploring composition, improvisation, and contemporary performance practice.

Shelby holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, summa cum laude, from Lesley University. His background in psychology informs his approach to teaching, mentorship, motivation, and community-centered music education.

Noelle Beaudin serves as the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Squam Ridge School of Music. A pianist, composer, educator, arts administrator, and hurdy-gurdy performer, she brings decades of experience in music education, nonprofit leadership, performance, and community engagement.

Noelle studied piano performance and composition, graduating from The Boston Conservatory, where she worked with distinguished faculty including John Adams, Alfred Lee, and Alicia Farmer.
